A mezőgazdasági területek érzékenységének és adaptációs képességének mérési lehetőségei AgEcon
Farkas-Fekete, Maria.

ABSTRACT: Using genotypes adapted to different regions is one of the main ways to increase Brazilian bean yield. The aim of the present study was to assess the genotypic performance of Carioca beans through mixed models. Fourteen Carioca bean genotypes were assessed in four locations in Pernambuco State (Arcoverde, Caruaru, Belém de São Francisco and São João counties) in 2015. The experiments followed a completely randomized block design, with three repetitions. Genetic parameters were estimated according to the REML/BLUP methodology, whereas genotype selection was based on the harmonic mean of relative performance of genetic values method (MHPRVG). The mean genotype heritability had moderate magnitude, high selective accuracy, besides allowing selection...

Aguiar,Aurélio Mendes; Carlini-Garcia,Luciana Aparecida; Silva,Adelmo Resende da; Santos,Mateus Figueiredo; Garcia,Antonio Augusto Franco; Souza Jr.,Cláudio Lopes de.
The utilization of diallel crosses for identification of superior combinations is a common practice in maize (Zea mays L.) breeding programs. This methodology allows the estimation of the combining ability of genotypes being evaluated. In this work, five inbred lines were evaluated as to their general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining abilities, by using a complete diallel scheme. The single-crosses produced between these inbred lines were evaluated in seven environments, along with two checks, by using a randomized complete block design. Traits analized were: grain yield, plant height, ear height, ear placement, and prolificacy. A diallel analysis was carried out, following an adaptation of Griffing's method IV, in addition to hybrid stability and...

Factor analysis and SREG GGE biplot for the genotype × environment interaction stratification in maize Ciência Rural
Fritsche-Neto,Roberto; Miranda,Glauco Vieira; DeLima,Rodrigo Oliveira; Souza,Heraldo Namorato de.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of SREG GGE biplot methodology and factor analysis to stratify the genotype×environment interaction in maize. Forty-nine early maize hybrids were evaluated in nine environments. The experimental design used was a 7×7 square lattice with two replicates. Each plot consisted of two 5m long rows spaced 0.90m apart. Grain yield data were used to perform the analysis. The results indicated the existence of two mega-environments in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, for early maize hybrids. The stratification of the environment by factor analysis was more selective to join the similarity the according with cultivar performance. However, this approach did not identify specific genotype x environment interactions,...

Habitat structure and small mammals abundances in one semiarid landscape in the Brazilian Caatinga Zoologia
Freitas,Rodrigo R.; Rocha,Pedro Luís B. da; Simões-Lopes,Paulo César.
Studies conducted under a major project sponsored by the Brazilian Academy of Sciences in the 1970's concluded that the small mammal fauna of the semiarid Caatinga region of Brazil is impoverished and highly restricted to mesic granite outcroppings due to the lack of water conserving physiological capabilities in its species. This work focuses the abundance of small mammals in five typical Caatinga habitats. Indirect gradient analysis shows that three theoretical environmental variables explain most of the variance present in the community abundance matrix. Direct analysis of gradients show that none of these variables is highly correlated to availability of granite outcroppings. Our data also suggest that the abundances in Caatinga are not particularly...
